Predictions for 2017
As most people already know, Dynamics 365 becomes Microsoft's total business solutions in the future. The plan is to reassemble the two product lines CRM and ERP. The forthcoming Dynamics 365 applications will be closely related to the new technology such as the Internet of Things (IoT), machine learning, advanced analytics etc.
In other words, Microsoft will give their customers an even greater incentive to move onto the cloud and tie up on subscription license models.
One of the big questions is how Microsoft has planned how the product line will be relevant to businesses of varying sizes. We will probably get the answer soon , since we expect Microsoft to launch some significant information and publicity campaigns for Dynamics 365 during the forthcoming year.
Another question is whether Dynamics 365 will include CRM. In fact, Microsoft's CRM platform has already changed its name from Dynamics CRM to Dynamics 365. According to Microsoft Dynamics 365 still contains the familiar features of Dynamics CRM, but the purpose of aggregation is to break down the invisible barriers that have traditionally existed between CRM and ERP.
Dynamics 365 was without question the biggest story in 2016 and will most likely be so again in 2017, the solution is after all still relatively new, but what other new initiatives will we see in 2017?
Additional Dynamics NAV integration
In the newest version of Dynamics NAV, NAV 2017, we will probably see an even closer integration to Office 365 and improved embedded Power BI. Both are part of Microsoft's efforts to tie their solutions closer together. When it comes to functionality it will be interesting to see the updated CRM part, which includes a new Dynamics CRM integration.
