C5 is phased out, switch to Business Central
Phasing out Dynamics C5
The accounting solution Dynamics C5, which was launched way back in 1995, has over time been used by many, especially smaller companies. After more than 25 years however, C5 has been retired. This means that the solution is no longer maintained or supported by Microsoft and that there will be no more updates. The Danish IT Security Agency also advises against the use of IT systems that are no longer supported by the supplier. Therefore, if you are using C5, you should consider switching to a new financial system.
Switch to Business Central
In 2018, Microsoft launched a successor to Dynamics C5 and Dynamics NAV, Business Central. Dynamics 365 Business Central is a further development of Dynamics NAV and is built on the same code. The ERP system contains all the functionality you need and the solution is suitable for all companies, regardless of size and industry, and with the Business Central Basic license, which is aimed at the very small and start-up companies, Business Central can be licensed at a price level where anyone can join.
Benefits of Business Central:
- Avoid expensive and cumbersome upgrades
- Know your monthly costs
- All the functionality you need
- Flexibility and scalability
- Can easily be integrated with WooCommerce
- Access your accounts wherever you are
- Built-in integration with Power BI and Office 365
Save money on Business Central licenses
If your company still uses C5 and has an active Dynamics update subscription, then, depending on your current solution, there is a discount when you move to Business Central. Unlike C5, where you paid a license and an ongoing subscription, Business Central is licensed by paying a license per. user per month. The advantage is that you can easily scale up and down depending on what you need and thus adapt the solution to the company's size and business needs. It also means that it is much easier to budget with a fixed monthly cost.
