In October, the rollout of Dynamics 365 2023 release wave 2 will begin. During the release wave, which starts in October 2023 and ends in March 2024, Microsoft will release hundreds of upgrades and new features to the business apps that make up Dynamics 365.

With the upgrade wave, Microsoft is releasing hundreds of brand new features and business capabilities across the many Dynamics 365 applications, including Business Central, Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, Field Service, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Project Operations, Finance and Operations cross-app functions, Human Resources, Commerce, Guides, and Customer Insights.

Dynamics 365 Business Central

In the Dynamics 365 2023 release wave 2 upgrades for Business Central, Microsoft has, among other things, focused on optimizing a number of core functionalities, for example by making it easier for companies to manage their intercompany and consolidations across environments.

The capabilities of the AI-based Dynamics 365 Copilot in Business Central have also been improved, so that users receive even more qualified help.

With Dynamics 365 2023 release wave 2 also comes improvements to the storage capacity in Business Central, more Power Automate templates have been added and Business Central developers and consultants get even more possibilities to automate testing of dependent apps.

Dynamics 365 Sales

With the Microsoft sales solution Dynamics 365 Sales, companies' sales departments are able to prioritize and manage a large number of digital sales processes with the help of improved sequence options.

With the Dynamics 365 2023 release wave 2 upgrade of Dynamics 365 Sales, it becomes easier to assign recommendations, summarize data, retrieve information and perform actions in the correct context and within the appropriate workflow. In this way, Microsoft has improved the possibilities for assigning leads and Dynamics 365 Sales users have a much better opportunity to both assign and monitor the status of lead assignment.

Dynamics 365 Finance
With the Dynamics 365 2023 release wave 2 upgrades for Finance, Microsoft has focused on optimizing the visibility of companies' data, introduced improvements to the automation of AP (accounts payable) and account statements, and expanded out-of-the-box country coverage in LATAM (Latin America).

With the upgrade of Dynamics 365 Finance, further automation of complex tax scenarios and e-invoicing requirements for several countries is also introduced, so that companies have a better opportunity to expand their business models and thus become more agile and flexible.

Supply Chain Management

Dynamics 365 Service

Dynamics 365 Customer Service
With the improvements introduced with the Dynamics 365 2023 release wave 2 upgrade to Dynamics 365 Customer Service, including improvements to the AI-based Copilot features, Join Me on Teams, visual improvements to the customer service agent user interface, the ability to view live chat conversations and voice calls in the inbox and personalize the size of the conversation control, your service employees are given the opportunity to work even more efficiently.

Dynamics 365 Field Service
The enhancements to Field Service that Microsoft is introducing with Dynamics 365 2023 release wave 2 include completely new capabilities for companies' frontline employees, service managers and coordinators. With the upgrade, Microsoft delivers several new features that have been requested by the solution's users, for example the ability to convert offers to work orders, improved inspections and development of the resource planning functions in Dynamics 365 Field Service.

Dynamics 365 Commerce

In Dynamics 365 Commerce, Microsoft uses artificial intelligence (AI) to make it easy for business users to efficiently and quickly create engaging and relevant product content for e-commerce.

With Dynamics 365 2023 release wave 2, Microsoft is introducing a number of new B2B investments in Dynamics 365 Commerce that allow distributors to view, accept and reject orders on a central dashboard, meaning that B2B sellers, distributors and buyers all have the opportunity to work on the same platform.

Dynamics 365 Guides

With Dynamics 365 2023 release wave 2, Microsoft is adding a wide range of new features and improvements to Dynamics 365 Guides, including Azure Remote Rendering, object anchors and availability in Government Community Cloud High.

In the new version of Guides, Microsoft is also introducing features aimed at making it easier to integrate with registration systems, so that Dynamics 365 Guides users can create mixed reality workflows that are integrated with their business data.

Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Center

With Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Center, it is possible to achieve a robust supply chain. With Dynamics 365 2023 release wave 2, a large number of improvements and new features are introduced in core areas such as Intelligent Order Management for PO (process orchestration) orchestration, smooth collaboration with external partners via the Supplier Portal and the AI-based copilot. In addition, Advanced Data Analytics is added to activate Insights to Action as well as completely new functionality for optimizing network storage.
