Closer Power Platform integration

The improved integration between Business Central and Power Platform introduced with Business Central 20 means, among other things, that the Business Central user can, in a simple and intuitive way, trigger a Power Automate flow from a specific page in Business Central. Another example of how the integration between Business Central and Power Platform has become closer with the first 2022 update is that it is now possible to use data change events from virtual Dataverse tables in Power Automate flow.

Power Automate flows

Starting with Business Central 2022 Release Wave 1, you can optimize your enterprise management solution (ERP system) by customizing Business Central with instant action in Power Automate, which can start from any card page. Run your workflows of your choice and request Business Central to trigger actions based on Power Automate, for example by sending an update via Teams or email, updating the status of an order, notifying your warehouse staff of a changed delivery and so on.
 

With this new feature, you get a brand new possibility to create and then manually trigger an instant flow in Power Automate for a given item, such as a customer, sales order or item. This means that all users can now create a flow that allows Business Central to integrate with other apps and services, seamlessly and without knowledge of coding.

Note!

The above function is not available by default, so it is necessary for an administrator to go to the 'Function Management' page first to activate it. Also note that the feature is not available in the on-premise (local) version of Business Central.
