Support of SQL Server 2008 R2 ends!

Two key deadlines are approaching for the many companies that use older versions of Microsoft popular server solutions. As of July 9, 2019, SQL Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008 / R2 are no longer supported.

SQL Server 2008 / R2 support will expire soon

In less than four months, Microsoft will stop supporting SQL Server 2008 R2.

Therefore, now is the time to upgrade and modernize by moving your SQL Server databases to Azure, thereby achieving greater security and performance.

Not doing anything is not an option

First of all, it is not an option not to do anything. When Microsoft ends the support, it means that they no longer provide support to the users of the solution, but much more seriously, they will no longer release security updates through the automatic update process. Therefore, as a user of a SQL Server 2008 R2, you will be vulnerable to new security issues, which will be an unacceptable risk for any application and database.

Future-proof solution

The forthcoming termination of the regular security updates of SQL Server 2008 R2 is approaching, therefore it is important that you react, so that your IT infrastructure and applications are not unprotected.

By moving your data to Azure, on the other hand, you get a much more modern and innovative cloud platform that is far better suited to carrying your business into the future.
